Dinner and a Movie
SO... last night was my much anticipated date.
And it went great! I had a good time, and Heather was very pleasant and easy to get along with. Good smile. We ate at a Mexican restaurant in the Palms, shared some fried ice cream, and then watched King Kong. I had brought some little packets of tissue, one for each of us, to produce magician-style if the crying occured. I only got a little teary, Heather a little more, so she was tissued. Overall, I am strangely disappointed that I didn't cry more - like the movie missed an opportunity.
Heather then told me she had a surprise for me at her car, and since I'd offered to walk her back to it, that worked out. It turns out for my graduation she had wrapped up for me a glass insulator, which is something I had mentioned was cool (an ex-girlfriend had put me onto them, but... we didn't need to bring that up). So, we hugged and went our separate ways. She's 5' 7" and is a good hugging height - also, she walks fast, which is SO good since I walk fast too. I considered writing her and thanking her for a lovely evening from my cell phone, but thought that might be A) A bit too dorky and B) perhaps too stalkery eager.
However, when I got home, she had already written me, so that was cool. And now I regret NOT writing her from the Palm's parking lot via my phone. I am so sad.
So, year, early days yet, but a good night was had. She seems very genuine and mellow, intelligent and giving. Also, I like presents. Big points there. ;)
With any luck we'll see each other this week, holiday stuff aside. Current Mood: happy
